Oh!!! Now I'm excited too because our Gold Star - Chimchar, has started squatting in the last few days and seems to love being handled, even approaching us almost to be picked up.  We thought she must be about ready to start laying as nice red comb and wattles now - must find golf balls tomorrow!

Can't wait for our first egg!!!

My DH was a bit freaked out the other day when our buff orp not only squatted but lifted up her tail feathers and 'presented' herself to him the other day! It was very funny!

hello rcandy,
It's not necessarily the size of the comb that indicates egg laying, it's the colour.  Combs are red when they are laying.
