Hi all I’ve just picked some more autumn raspberries this morning and was dissatisfied with the number that seem to have developed mould. Does anyone have a sure fire method of harvesting them when they are in peak condition??
Thanks HH

I tend to pick every day or at the most every 2 days, but I go every day to my chickens so it’s easy enough, amazing how long it takes though! I think it’s harder to pick optimally when it’s been raining, that seems to send them off very quickly, also refrigerate straight away or freeze as it doesn’t take many hours before they develop mould.

All as Snows says here, and it's sometimes the case with our Autumn raaas - 'Joan J'.
It doesn't hurt to pop in a few slightly unripe ones each time, as they soon catch up, but I've also noticed more mould since the weather changed a week or so ago!
We still prefer them to 'earliers' though - some of them have been huge...;0)

Thanks both must remember to pick more frequently!
