I give a couple of handfulls scattered around the garden every couple of days to give them something to find so all that scratching about isn't in vain. could I be giving them to many it says 25% fat and 50% crude protien on the label.

how many chickens do you have wolverine as this will depend on how many to feed. Mine once tripped me over with a large opened bucket of meal worms - so on the floor you have me and the whole flock seeing who could grab the worms (them to eat and me to try and put them back in the bucket) - result was that I lost!!

Hi,
The rule, according to my vet, who is a poultry expert says, you can feed them treats up to 10% of their total daily food intake.
So if they eat 100 grams of layers mash (or pellets) per day, you can give them 10 grams meal worms.
Hope this helps :)
You can also give them treats like fresh fruit or vegetables. Mine love carrots, but it has to be grated.
I always chop my veg into tiny bits, to prevent them from getting problems with their crop.

I only give mine mealworm once a week as a really special treat. The rest of the time I give them mixed corn. That was only because of the price of the stuff though, I didn't think that too much would harm them :wacko:
