I love to know if this works ? The price of commercial nemetodes seemed to have almsot doubled from last year ? After last years wet weather they are probably expecting a high demand and are taking advantage?

Thanks Shed Head - found and read the articale - got to be worth a try . Brought ones are £10 a pack... I guess the only downside is you don't really know how effective it is until you dig up your spuds ... But Toby Buckland should know what he is talking about....

You'll need a concrete stomach if you're going to try this  ;)

It sounds easy enough - but I can't say I like the idea of them slowly drowning for 2 weeks - seems unnecessarily cruel to me :( the rest of it I would have no problem with

I dissagree.  In 2010 I bought a three application large pack (100m2) for £59.85, same price in 2012 and this year it is £62.85 (all from Harrod Horticultural).  Doesn't seem like a big rise to me!

Just got my copy of grow your own and there is an article about Spanish slugs . . . They multiply in the 100's and are said to eat our UK slugs! They were found in Norfolk one bloke had 200 / 300 on his plot! Unfortunately you can't tell by sight if they are Spanish or English. . . .
2 Books and No idea!!!  Learning as I go!
