American football in London today
« on: October 10, 2021, 15:13 »
I was wondering why I was getting score alerts this early in the day for the (American) football game between the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons.  Then I remembered it was being played in London!

I hope it is televised over there if you enjoy that. I'm rooting for the home team of course!

I watched some great college games yesterday. University of Georgia vs. Auburn, then Alabama vs. Texas A&M. I normally watch only one college game a week, but these were two back-to-back marquee games!

I have not watched an American football game in years .
If anybody says that the rules of cricket are confusing then tell them to watch an American football game. I never have a clue whats going on   ::)

Nothing complicated about NFL once you get the hang of it! I don't get to watch as much as I'd like these days but I always watch the Superbowl online with a few friends in the States. It was particularly good fun this year as my one friend is a South Florida native and a Bucs fan (as am I by adoption).

Like any sport, NFL football has some quirks.  I think for the new viewer, one of the most confusing aspect is points earned that are not from conventional touchdowns, point-afters, or field goals.  Also, game strategy, which often varies greatly depending on player strengths and weaknesses.

P1P, I bet you're glad Tom Brady is no longer wearing a New England Patriots uniform.

It's fair to say that my opinion on Brady has somewhat changed since he left New York ;)

Can't claim to understand what's going on but always enjoy watching it.
