potatoes in tubs

I emptied some potatoes out our potato  tubs that have  been in there all winter and apart from rubbing off some small shoots they seemed fine still firm they where planted as first earlies and there are some pink fir apple all good but my wife seems to think we shouldn't eat them because there been there so long in the tubs so can anyone tell me if there still ok to eat

Course they are ok to eat  :D In the old days, and during the War, spuds used to be stored in an earthen clamp.
