1st dinner from allotment

I have finally done it.  We had the first new potatoes and peas (ok only a few peas) for dinner today. Hooray  :D  We also had 2 strawberrys each for afters.
Not bad considering I only got the plot on 29th March.
I feel a bit silly feeling so pleased but I have achieved.  :D  :D  :D

It's a great feeling isn't it, sense of achievement.  We had ours too, 6 little spuds, some broad beans, peas, an onion and some strawberries. Picked my first garlic today too, and have lots of dill ready (my absolute favourite herb which is growing like crazy) - well done

I made a quiche yesterday with, spring onions ,broad beans, courgette,Purple sprouting broc and my own eggs. I insisted everybody had some. ! We also found a couple of strawberries to "share". Last year I planted a vic plum tree and was derided by the kids coz it only gave one plum. But when it was ripe I cut it into fifths and we all had a bit lol.

We had our first new potatos last week and I was saying to the family it wouldn't be long before we had peas, carrots, onions, and potatos all on one plate I can't wait.  It felt such an achievement with just the spuds. It makes all the weeding and digging worthwhile just for that feeling you get when you eat them.

I have also shared a strawberry because it was the only one at the time, I think theres another one nearly ripe at the moment too shall I share or eat myself?
