what do i need apart from the apples etc?

ive found a recipe wg,
my main questions are realy do i need that stuff to make it set? and would i need a fine mesh cullinder to drain it through with pears being graney?

The recipe calls for lemon juice instead of pectin (apples have natural pectin too). No colander needed.
You need to be aware of American measurements. An American pint is 16 fluid ounces (an imperial pint is 20fl oz). An American cup is 8 fluid ounces

I made it this morning and its lovely
