I've seen that piccie and it is fascinating in an icky sort of way

Bit icky maybe, but still amazing!

When you gently pull the string, all the little yolks are attached to it from the yellow ones that are nearly ready to be an egg, right down to the little empty white bags, getting ready to fill with yolk!

I didn't think it was that bad either, but one of our members said it made her feel sick!

It was amazing to see it though.  never seen one before!

2 years ago, some of our meat chickens were a bit older when we culled them and a few had started laying.  This lot came out when Brian was gutting them!

We've got a few meat chickens now still running around at 16 weeks, and 2 of them have started to lay!
