Dogs on Plots
« on: August 03, 2010, 18:45 »
Can someone please advise.. On Saturday i asked the chairman is it ok to bring dogs on he said no... i have a black lab so was hoping to go walkies and do the allotment.
Today after work i pop down and there is a German shepard, now as a newbie on the plot to i be quiet and bring the dog down or do i mention that i saw a dog on site...

Thoughts please

Given that you've asked and been told no, you can't really plead ignorance as a defence.

Does it say anything particular in your tenancy agreement?

You could always go back and ask for confirmation as you've seen other plotholders with their dog(s)?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Lots of people bring dogs with them on our site.  Some are very quiet, some friendly, but so long as they aren't nasty or doing damage, why on earth not?  Many is the dog walk that ends with collecting the veg for dinner!

dogs are welcome on our plots as long as they are kept on a lead.

Our rules actually say no dogs, but lots of plot holders bring theirs down and as long as they are in their own plots no-one minds. We all have to fence our plots though (against rabbits, not to stop dogs getting out  )

Ours is the same as sunshineband's.  The rules say no dogs but we have two regulars and they are as good as gold.
