Title: toothbrushes
Post by: Selkie on November 06, 2007, 22:28
ok this is a strange question but can anyone come up with uses for old toothbrushes?

there have been dozens washing up along the coast here - a cargo ship must have lost a container or something. they are all new (but unpackaged) toothbrushes and rather than just add them to the rubbish i'm collecting from the beach (which the council takes away - yay) i thought i'd try and come up with a use for them.

If you're so inclined, they're dandy for scrubbing the grout between tiles and the inside edges of greenhouse glass panes. And if you do any painting, they scatter paint a treat.  If you thoroughly wash one, you can clean the dog's teeth. (definitely want a pic of that one!)

I use them in a variety of ways (not allotment though!)

I clean behind the taps with them.

I dye my hair with them!

I clean the thing (think it's called a kitchen caddy) where I dry my cutlery and crockery, as can't get the gunge out otherwise.

* Cleaning the kitchen & bathroom taps.

* Cleaning bicycle wheel rims & spokes.

* Cleaning the inside of flower vases.

* Putting stove black on the fireplace.

Best to use separate brushes for each.

nope no ducks, i know the ones you mean but none here - and i cover quite a stretch of the local coastline on my rambles.

i did find a weird black plastic octopus the other day though - not sure what i'll do with him, hang him up somewhere or other i guess

  definately an octopus, would have run a mile if it was a spider

i think it'll go in our bathroom along with my mermaids, seahorses etc (only have one octopus in there and it's lonely!!)

not the best photo in the world but....

When you have a wild party at home, replace all the toothbrushes in your bathroom with ones from the beach, because some people use them to clear the plughole after they have vomitted in the sink.
