Title: WOLSELEY MAJOR MERRY TILLER CULTIVATOR
Post by: MaryM on May 16, 2013, 12:32
Hi, I am new to this site and really hope that someone can help me.  My 91yr old Dad has a cultivator that won't spark.  It has been working well for several years but the problem started last year and he would really like to be able to use it on his vegetable patch this year.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have the manual and I am having difficulty finding any info.  It has a Briggs and Stratton engine.  He told me that he needs to remove the fly wheel and has a friend that will look at it for him if he was able to get a copy of the manual. I can't seem to find any serial or other numbers on the engine!

Can anyone help please? :)

Thank you for your replies, I'm very grateful.  Dad tells me it has a 3HP engine, so I will have a look for that.

hi if its an old model it sounds like the condenser this is behind the flywheel before removing fly wheel lightiy center punch marks on flywheel crankshaft and side of engine with piston at top deadcenter this way you keep timing in right position  jezza

Thanks Jezza, Dad's friend managed to get it working and I have rotavated the veggie plot.  I was very relieved as I did not relish having to dig the plot over with a spade!
