Broccoli was originally an Italian veg  ;)

According to Mr T, in his book The Kitchen Gardener, green broccoli aka Calabrese can be sown from March til August in a polytunnel. Make sure it's well ventilated and it still needs protection from butterflies !

I have a great book for polytunnels - Klaus Laitenberger's  Vegetables for the Polutunnel and Greenhouse.  It suggests sowing the following in modules for planting into the PT boarder in 4 to 6 weeks

Basil
Chinese cabbage
Courgette
Cucumber
Coriander
French Beans
Florence Fennel
Lettuce
Pak Choi
Parsley
Scallions (spring onions)

Thx Eblana.

Courgettes and Cucumber draw my attention.  Isn't it too late?  I've got enough of both going in the PT now but I'd like to know if they are still viable for sowing if needed.

Big learning curve the first year in the PT!!!!

Plenty of time for both - iznik claims 45 days to fruit, courgette defender 84 days.
