Apple Press
« on: July 06, 2009, 19:34 »
Hi there
I am new to the site and having an alottment.
I posted earlier today and it was suggested that I try the brewing section.
I have an established bramley apple tree and I want to make cider this year.
Can anybody advice me on how or where I can purchase an old or new press for the apples.

Can only suggest  a search on google UK. It brings up a few places that sell apple presses and probably some information/guidance. I would guess that you would need a fairly solid one.

Didn't look too deep but I guess that there are a few designs to construct yourself if you are handy.

I have a Vigo Press (Google Vigo), it is very good and sturdy but they are not cheep
I was fortunate enough to get it from my FIL

as mentioned you can make a basic one fairly easily if you have the time and moderate skills
