Wait until the ground is no longer frozen - can you put it in a pot until then?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I don't think it needs to be in the heated warmth of the house, a garage, shed, greenhouse, unheated conservatory would be fine I think.  I even think outdoors should be OK but don't have new fruit trees so would go with any contributions from others who know better than me.

The main risk is the roots drying out so as long as they are protected in some way e.g. compost or damp hessian, that will be fine.  Remember that the plants survive winter outdoors without any help usually - it's just the frozen ground which is preventing you putting them in their positions.

oh! the pit is already there.
I have to add farmyard manure (mix it with some John inns compost)
so can I plant it tomorrow.
I am going to beeq to get good pack of above said ingredients and a stake pole to support now.
will come and have a look what others have said and depending on it, the rootstock will go indoors (garage) or outdoors tomorrow.

Leave it in the garage or somewhere - in a bucket of water ideally, but not if it's going to freeze. Tomorrow, if the ground is frozen then put it in a bucket with some compost and leave it in a sheltered place until you can dig the ground. If the ground is frozen the roots will never get going.
Good luck!
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
