A couple of folks have PM'd me asking about haggis so I thought I'd do a general post.

There are some butchers in this area who make really great haggis but perhaps the best haggis I know is made by a German butcher who is also happy to supply mail order.   One other forum member has ordered goods from here & advised me that they were very pleased with both quality and prices.

Contact Stefan at Cruickshank's of Fochabers 01343 820211.  Tell him that "David the barter guy" gave you his number (no commercial benefit to me incidentally).

Apart from haggis, he makes some really good German-style sausages, smoked meats and smoked cheese.

Let us know how you get on.

Wasn't there a silly river cottage episode about hunting the wild haggis? Vicious wee beasties, ye ken?
