munties honey rabbit for sunday dinner

2 rabbits joints .use the back legs n back only
1/2 lb thick cubes bacon
2 large carrots ringed  up
dozen shallots peel em of course
3 cloves garlic choped up .. very fine if ya like me n not to keen on it but this recipe needs it
couple doz cracked black peppercorns
2 bay leaves
 4 tablespoons good clear honey  not the cheap muck
1/2 pint the cider i told ya about or use strongbow
good 1/2 tablespoon of english mustard powder
 chopped up coriander n parsley freh stuff folks
 flour butter n a bit of salt
 wsh ya rabbits n put load salt on em  shove em in the fridge fer n hour n half

 wash n dry ya portions
shove a teaspoon mustard with 2 of flour n rub it in all over ya rabit bits
fry ya rabbit off for 10 mins each til the browned
shove em to keep warm in the oven grill
 put ya carrots n shallots in ya pan  chase em around the pan for 5 mins  chuck ya garlinc peppercorns  and honey in  watch the honey start to toffeeup  add the cider n ya rabbit bits back to the pan
 simmer it n chuck the bay leaves in
 cook it off on simer fer about n hour .
mix ya melted butter with ya flour to make a sauce  till ita a paste  stir it in ya rabit mix a bit at a time  its only gona thicken it up so ya know what ya doing now serve it up with ya tatties n veggeis
still alive /............

Sounds ace.  Might try it with chicken.  That said, I was watching some bunnies in the field opposite so I could throw a little lead at them.

No, I sold my shotguns and only kept on the Firearm Certificate.  I have a .22 Krico bolt-action rifle with moderator.  Use sub-sonic ammo and you can get a row of three rabbits before they know the others are dead.

I couldn't hit anything with a shotgun anyway & when things tightened up (rightly so) after the Dunblane shootings, I sold them off.  A wonderful old .410 double barrel poachers gun, and the other was a Purdey!

nice one .is there many rabbits still about up there i used to shoot ayrshire and we fillled up

They're everywhere! One caused havoc in my garden whilst on the loose until the cat managed to get it but not before nibbling my leaks and spring onions!
