dirty bums
« on: January 02, 2009, 10:42 »
one of my girls has got a dirty pooy bum is that anything to worry about  :?:  the poo that i have cleaned out the house today seems fine although there were a few runny ones .

i am taking one back to the vet today as well to get some more antiboitics to sort out this cold they have as quite a few of them seem to have what looks like yukky nostrils but there doesnt seem to be as much sneezing going on compared to the other day .

HI looby.

Dirty bums can mean worms. Have you done them at all ?

Your vet should be able to advise.

There's so many things that could be wrong. From what everyone says, even the best vets can miss things or make a wrong guess.

I hope you get them sorted and happy again. :)

Ours often have muck on their beaks and faces, even though they wipe them on something convenient. I think it's maybe the time of year when everything is covered in mud.

Aunt Sally recommends a drop or two of baby shampoo in some warm water for the job. You may need to carefully cut away a few feathers if it's really matted but prob just a good wash will do.

Antibiotics can cause them to have a runny tummy.  I would advice giving them some Avipro Plus after they have finished the antibiotics.  Your vet shout be able to sell you some or you can purchase it on line.
