Araucana X Welsummer, what would it look like as a mature hen?
I'm wondering because two of my chicks are this cross. So far they look very similar to a female cream legbar chick. They are three weeks old at the moment.

She is lovely and does seem to look a bit legbar-ish too. My chicks look similar to the legbars too but slightly brighter in colour.

Here are my two Araucana x Welsummer chicks, they are 3 weeks old now and very lively.

She had more of a top knot when younger. Her colouring as a baby was more grey - she looked rather scruffy - like the baby owl that was being raised down our lane and the baby owl in I'm Not Scared! by Jonathan Allen so our daughter Emily decided she should be called Baby Owly

She is quite a character - lovely with Emily who put herself in charge of making sure she got to the feed and wasn't picked on and for reasons that aren't clear always attacks our neighbour who runs away from her!

If I remember rightly the first cream legbars were araucana crosses after the person that first brought back araucanas lost all but a male specimen of the birds.
