Thanks to all of your help our little chicken (with a lot of nursing) is back with the girls and doing so well - cannot believe how well she is doing after a very nasty fox attack.  She had damage to her back and was unable to put her leg to the ground - now she is back to walking, jumping and hopping about as normal.  However, I kept her indoors in a pet carrier until she recovered and now when she wants to lay an egg she hops into the kitchen gets lifted into the box on the table and lays the egg in the box.  She can get up to the coop but will not lay in the nest boxes.  She looks so desperate to try and get back indoors any suggestions please - she is fine the rest of the time goes up to bed normally etc.  Just the egg laying problem.  JMF
