Due to electrical issues, 90m is a very very long way.

We use chemicals in this garden, just as god intended

So why are they selling 100m rolls of cable?

Surely 90m is a tiny tiny bit of land compared to some?

What's the solution then, is everyone just running their fences off caravan batteries?

Actually that's what it is, marine battery - caravan battery, almost the same thing I think?

What I'm concerned about though is somebody stealing the battery and the energiser. Marine batteries are good scrap value and round here they would take the energiser too even if they didn't know what it was.

It seems a bit ridiculous to start having to protect the protective fence....

Might be that you have to have armoured cable as the other cable might overheat.  Not sure but think our electrician mentioned something like that when we were running cable to our garage.  Either that or there will be some law or other, health and safety issues!

Farmer Woosnip, that'll be a leisure battery you're using at the moment, just to that you know the correct search term to look up. ;) You'll find a lot of voltage drop on a run as long as 90 metres. You can look that up too and read about it.

I bought poultry netting with solar panel charging a battery off ebay.  Someone living in France but putting it on the ebay UK site thinking more people in UK would be interested,  Got it for under £100 and it is brilliant - I would ass thought that you will need extra poles to those supplied , we have used metal poles with the pig tail type connectors this year which seem  to work well if you wan tot keep moving it.

I have had no fox problems since the electric fence.  I let them completely free range if I am outside all day and the dog has free range too, otherwise they are behind the wire.
