Over run with slugs

Can anyone tell me is it true that ducks eat slugs. Our chickens wont touch them (they dont like sticky beaks)

If anyone keeps ducks or chickens that eat slugs, what breeds are they, and would they like a holiday in Dover (the Chickens and Ducks) free food and board available all you can eat menu.

Ducks eat slugs BIG TIME.  They also eat virtually all your veg.

Try slug pubs.

I think I would rather have the ducks eat the veg, at the moment the slugs
eat everything in their path its got to the stage where we go round at night collecting the slugs with a poop scoop and a bucket, at the end of the night the bucket is full, I sprinkle it with salt and we have a digusting slimy sludge in the morning.
Ducks it is then. :D

Quite by mistake, I found that the bagged plaster that builders use for walls kills slugs for fun.
I've seen my ducks not bother too much for slugs but go beserk for snails.

Our fields are bounded by back gardens on one section and the gardeners would wait until the ducks came their way before throwing the snails over to them. The ducks soon got into the habit of toddling off upto that particular part of the fields to check out the free meals on offer. :D

Yup - see my Slugweiser recipe on http://www.chat.allotment-garden.org/viewtopic.php?t=7356

This tasty brew is served up in plastic milk flasks with slots cut to keep the rain out but let the slugs/snails in

Just seen in The Sun today that the slug population has grown everywhere (not just me their picking on then).

Before keeping chickens I used slug pellets everywhere but I will try the beer traps, I could do with a barrel of beer to get rid of the lot I've got.

We haven't used slug pellets for the last few years and don't know whether it's our imagination that the bird population has increased markedly. I'm afraid that hedgehogs don't last very long here because one of our dogs has mastered the art of killing them - we have to go out with her to make sure all the hegdehogs have toddled off.
