Putting the poots away tonight (it's -14) the inside of their coop is freezing.  It's a coop that will easily take 6 more poots and 4 more bantams so I was wondering about putting in some bales of hay or straw to take up some of the space and insulate. 

Advice needed please

good idea, the les air space they have the easier it is for them to keep warm.  Try and keep any ventilation spaces clear

if you feel they are too cold then yes (poots do need extra care in this weather). Mine have a des res which is able to cope with more birds but luckily for my poots Dixi the naked red neck has moved herself in with them and all 5 huddle together

We planed to to get their new coop before Christmas but the snow the other week and lost income means it's going to be in the new year but it will be worth the wait
