Well the chooks have been given the all clear - :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

The vet has just called and said all 4 tests were clear.

The mystery deepens. :?

On the whole hygiene bit we move the coop around about every 3-4 days at the mo with the wet weather. The washing hands was always important but is now never out of our minds! We have also bought some anti bac hand rub that we keep on the coop.

I went to buy some  straw last night and the farmer had said that he had had a bout of it too.

FYI the vet had said that the vaccine would not stop sallmonella but controls the amount of bacteria in the bird and that they can be vaccinated indvidually.

 :D !

Great news  :!: Now you can enjoy them with a clear conscience.

There are so many ways your children could have picked up the salmonella you will probably never know, but at least you know it's not the chooks  :D

Thanks for the other info.
