Just thought I'd mention these traps I found last year, they are absolutely astounding on how much they catch, literately thousands over a month or two . Far better than those ultraviolet lamp things.

So redtop fly traps are their name and are available from www.ashmoat.com or you may find them on ebay.

Only one thing to remember is not to put them near the house as they pong a bit on hot days
