Broodys galore

Ok, 1 broody I can cope with but this is ridiculous

I just had one batch hatch and then these 3 start it all over again.  I have 2 silkies sharing a clutch and seem to work on a shift system, then Delilah wanted to have them so I gaver her a few to sit on and then Yummy hijacked a load more and started sitting as well.  I know Yumm has a good track record but we shall have to see what the others manage
:-(

 The look so lovely but you can definitely see then scowling, bet they were making tutty rosey noises at you!
I've got my 2 girls sharing a clutch of 6 and they've been sitting well but not so sure of the eggs fertility (been through the postal system).  :?
Maybe looking for some day olds if they turn out to be duds I can't let them sit for so long without a reward!

I have 4 out of my six all broody! 1 of the x orpy/wyandotte has been broody for weeks, trouble is I don't have enough room for anymore chooks, so don't want to get any fertile eggs. Just hoping they get bored soon

Please tell me, what age to hens have to be before they can get broody? Ive got one who is very reluctant to leave the nesting box...glares and makes a noise if I go near her, but she's one of my young'uns.

Mary.
