Duck eggs
« on: February 09, 2008, 17:59 »
I have got some fertile duck eggs , but im not sure what ducks they are from.
Some of the eggs are about the same size as large chicken eggs that are a cream white colour,
The others are slightly larger with a green tint to them.
Can anyone help me narrow down the type of ducks these eggs are from?
I think they are from commercial breeds by the size and colour but im not 100% sure

hello there,

we have khaki campbells and they lay almost pure white eggs, it may be the same for Welsummer  Aylesbury eggs, although i'm not totally sure on that, slowef has them i think and she would tell you better.

i posted some pics in here a while ago and someone asked me about the colour as they thought they should have a tint of blue to them, but in a reply to that, i think another person said the 'blues' came from mallards???

could be miles out cos i cant find the thread and am just going off memory.

someone will come along soon and give you a full breakdown of breads and colours i'm sure lol
