:ohmy: Beatrice has lost all her neck feathers,she does not appear to be moulting anywhere else.
I have studied her and she is not putting her head through any chicken wire-it's all too small or weldmesh.
I have noticed my Bluebelle head girl-whom acts like a rooster mount her a few times,Surely they can't all be missing because of this?
No mite,bugs,illness,she is laying well,fit and healthy!
I took these pictures due to her being caught in that rain we had,I always bring them in to dry off in the warm.
She is even reading music now as she loves the sax ;)

She is 2 years of age,a copper black maran.

have you seen of the other pecking her feathers or found any on the floor?
Has she had a full moult yet? this usually happens in winter ::)

No I have not seen any pecking at her,I have had her since last July,she was supposedly reared 6 months prior to that.I have another whom has lost all her bottom feathers,all on her back and sides,I shall post a pic.

Hi Joyfull,
here is Val,she is I believe a Jersey Giant though was told she is a Maran but she weighs 10.6 lbs. You cannot see from the picture but her feathers on her back are missing half way up her back.

And Sal I see as her sister,also some 10lbs is broody with no moulting at all.
