Check out your local farm shops....see what they charge. It also depends whether you want to sell them as free-range/organic. We charge about £1.50 less than our local farm shop.

I charge £1.00 for 1/2 dozen, until last week we used to charge 75p, until I realised how much i was paying for corn, layers pellets, mixed corn etc    - I think this is pretty reasonable since the local supermarket charges 1.75 for free range eggs

mine are organically-fed free range and I sold my first box of six for £2.00     I didn't know what to charge as was not planning on selling them but I got someone wanting them and she said they were £2.08 in our local supermarket but they were imported from France so she suggested £2     I hope she comes back next week

well i have decided on £2.50. if i sell at least a dozen  a week that will cover costs and we really will  have free eggs. hope there are no slakers in the ranks and they keep laying well.
the lady from two doors down come around today  with some egg boxes asking if she could buy some eggs and there are loads of people at work. i swap jam and veg for them with one person its all good fun.

I am selling @ 70p a half dozen which just covers food etc, I only have two laying at the mo, but soon I hope all 5 will help build my eggpire      
I only put out what I don't use myself, but my neighbours are waiting in anticipation as they are mixed coloured eggs & keep asking if they have started laying yet :roll:  :roll:
At the mo they get blue & beige but soon there will be dark brown, olive & white.  Really do need one more colour to make the 6 but until I build an extention on their house, I don't have the room :cry:  :cry:

The free range eggs in the village shop are 90p, so I may put mine up to 80p when they are all laying

I sell mine for £1.50 a dozen to work collegues. It doesn't quite cover the cost of the food but it helps.

What breeds of hens do you have Mumsy that you get the different eggs, the olive coloured eggs intrigue me

I have a cream legbar (blue), black rock (beige) Araucana (olive), Wheaten Maran (dark brown) & a red dorking (white).  The darker the araucana's are, the greener the egg.  Its great cos' you know who has laid, well, I will when they are all laying.  I did have a leghorn which was a white egg, but she kept laying soft shelled eggs & was eating them, she was rehomed & I replaced her with the red dorking.

im pretty sure i read somewhere that if you sell/ advertise them as free range you better have the paper work to back it up

I get 1.50 for 6 and I always have a waiting list!mmmmmmmmmmmmmmdefinitely NEED more chickens!!!!
