Caterpillar Help
« on: July 13, 2010, 17:43 »
I have gone down to my allotment today and caterpillars have decimated my sprouts what can I do to ensure they are gone? I have picked off the ones I can see and fed them to my hens (no coming back for them) however I am worried that there are more eggs that might hatch over the next few days and continue the carnage!!

Any help much appreciated

Andy

Keep checking for eggs and caterpillars and continue squashing and get some fine netting ready for the next time you plant any.

IMO It's really not worth trying to grow them unless you net them :(

IMO - you're right!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Try this one
http://www.tools4thegarden.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=1653

But these types are contact sprays so you still have to see them to kill them..if you see what I mean.

Try to get hold of some debris netting. It's about the only thing that seems to stop them  :)
Cheers, Comfortably Numb.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long ..........................
