Title: Marketmore Cucumber
Post by: Missey on December 28, 2018, 18:34
Hi just a quickie - going through my seed box and found some Marketmore Cucumber seed - I can't remember if this variety needs the flowers pinching out to prevent the cucumbers becoming bitter.

Thanks

No, Marketmore is a ridge cucumber. Leave all the flowers on, if you pinch the flowers out you won't get any cucumbers! Pinching the male flowers out is for greenhouse cucumbers. 👍

I grow only marketmore, outside. I don’t pinch out but make sure to give plenty of space and canes to climb up. Unsolicited advice, but I love marketmore after trying lots of other varieties!

Marketmore is a winner! Productive. Great taste. No maintenance. No pinching.
Up canes, netting or trellises. Or left to itself to creep along the plot. I wouldn't grow any other!
