Title: Sorry - Flubenvet Again
Post by: Hitman on July 11, 2015, 18:50
Hello all,

I need to worm my chickens and read that Flubenvet is the only licensed product.  I only have 3 birds so I looked online for the 1% food additive.  Every link I follow shows the product as out of stock.

I have searched posts on here, and they mention Countrywide Stores stocking it, but following those links give just generic Countrywide adverts.

Can anyone help point me to a supplier please?

Many thanks

Hitman

Hmmm... It does seem to be out of availability at present.

You can get this though:

Flubenvet Layers Pellets (5kg) (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YNG8HA2/ref=as_li_tl?&ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B00JWSDXMI&linkCode=as2&tag=poultrykeep09-21&linkId=P2VZPUFGWE5O3QOP)

I went to 3 pet shops and 2 country stores last week for this. The pet shops are not allowed to sell it any more and the country stores both told me there has been an availability shortage since february. Omg. Apparently you can get it from the vets so I was told.

considering the bbf date on the meds, buying the readymix pellets is quite good

I have always used Netx Herbal gut conditioner, which came in the starter kit which I bought when I took my three birds. I put this in their water for three consecutive days in the middle of each month. Seems to work ok

Flubenvet is very effective and kills all worms, including gape worms, which the herbal treatments don't touch.  Mine get garlic as a gut conditioner, but they also get Flubenvet every 6 months  :)

Mostly you would not know they had a worm burden until it is too late. Prevention is definitely better than cure  :)

I used to buy pellets with flubenvet (marriages) from Farm and Pet Place. I have just checked and they have it in stock approx. £7 for a 10k bag and they deliver. I usually get a phone call before delivery to check why I ordered it.  I now use Panacur which is a hell of a lot easier as I just put it in the drinking water.

Just so people are aware before trying to buy this product, Panacur is not licenced for use with poultry, so requires a prescription from a vet.  It also has an egg withdrawal period  :)

This is the link New Shoot

This one is only for pigs and chickens and came out last year. It does not need withdrawl for layers, but does for meat.

Ta grinling  :)

I hadn't heard about the new one.  Still needs a prescription, but good that there is no egg withdrawal now  :)
