If you can't find what you are looking for on ebay try "the book depository", they are pretty good and do free pandp

Be careful and check prices on flea-bay, some of them are charging more than they would in Waterstones and the like!

I have found Amazon's 'marketplace' to be a fantastic place for cheap, used books, most of the time undercutting eBay. Just make sure that you check the P&P costs first.

Also, if no one has the 1940 classic 'How to Run an Allotment' by Alec Bristow, it has been re-published in hardback and Amazon have some huge reductions on it at the moment. It was written by my friend's grandad and is something of a classic, I believe.

Tim's mum was on Woman's Hour this morning, he says, talking about Alec and the book - I may have to check it out on iPlayer!

Sorry to hijack but I think it's on topic!

I have also found Amazon to be amazing for books. Just yesterday I received Dr DG Hessayon 'Veg & Herb Expert'. Lovely book. I also bought John Harrisons books form ebay. Can't stop now...... you're right though scabs, you do need to check the old p&p costs.

I just bought an ex Library copy of The Kitchen Garden Yearbook by Daphne Ledward (an oldie but a goodie) from Amazon for a squid +£2.75 p&p .......... a bargain :)
(could have got it a bit cheaper but the cheaper shop had a lower rating, so I wasn't sure  )

I have been looking for a copy for ages, as I was getting fed up with keep borrowing it from Ashford Library.............now I will have my own Library copy
