I contacted KingsSeed and they have said not before the 3rd week in May at the very earliest! Celeriac all planted out but will hold fire with celery which is not quite as advanced.

you could try pre chitting seeds on damp tissue i find this much better with less rotting and better germination with all larger seeds.

Some varieties are perhaps just more sensitive than others.

I regularly try to grow Sunflower Hallo. Had success with them the first year. Now, I'm lucky if 50% germinate - but the Mixed Cut Flower seeds all came through in the same conditions  ::)

Grow Your Own / Dwarf beans rotting in seed trays
« Last post by Anton on Yesterday at 21:09 »
Help please. I have a seed tray with six rows of cells, so I sowed three different types of beans, two rows of each. Two rows came up and some of the seedlings have already been planted in the garden (the others were two small but now the right size) but the other four rows were a disaster. Two seedlings barely raised their heads. I dug down into the cells today and discovered the remains of seeds but nothing else. I have been keeping them up in the attic, so it is not super warm. Perhaps I overwatered them but what does that say about the two successful rows?

Are you putting fertiliser on the bed? If so, which one are you using? Some can attract rats more than others.
