Hi all can anyone suggest a good variety to grow next year iv only got a small raised bed so im not after massive snips thanks

I've had good results this year with Gladiator F1 in a 12 inch soil depth.
I've had problems with germination and gappy rows in the past so carrid out a rough test and sowed half in modules and the others as normal. I am well pleased with the results of the roots started in modules and transplanted before the root reached the bottom of the module and forked ( judgement)
It seems a lot of extra work, but takes no more time than thinning and without the root disturbance thinning can cause. I get germinated seeds planted out at the right distance apart.
The other row came on OK as well - germination per se was not a problem this year -
the roots were smaller than the modules.

Parsnips will vary in size independent of the variety. Do you want long-rooted or stump-rooted - the latter will probably be best. Go for ones with the least core and canker-resistant, plus taste - Tender and True are good for taste. See what others think.
