My neighbours friend is in there most days. He is a very strong,short but large man, he almost always just wears shorts and a vest. A couple of weeks ago he arrived wearing a black and white check lumberjacks zipup jacket. I duly admired and teased him and said I wanted one, or could I have his when he throws it.
Yesterday morning he arrived. He said, I have got a pressie for you. It was the lumberjacks shirt. There is dried cement on the sleeves which almost reach the floor anyway, and a few blobs on the front as well, a hole in the pocket and it is very bobbly. I put it on, the length comes to my knees. I wore it all day and have got it on now. I know it is really stupid (It is washed and smells of Lenor) but it just meant a lot that he would think to do that. Small kindnesses - we all need to do them.
