Planted my garlic mid Nov last year and it did really well.  Waiting for onion sets 50 red and 50 white as the seeds i put in did not come   .  
Going to put some more spring onion (white lisbon winter hardy) seed in though, they did really well last year but have not come from the first sowing this Autumn, so will try again. Plan is to put onion sets in as soon as they come (bought off ebay), Garlic in October and Broad beans towards end October.

A lot of the plot is dug over now whilst i have been clearing crops off and it looks all neat and tidy and NO weeds, Hurrah  

Took some parsnips today and they are huge, have come really well, will leave the rest until after a frost.  OH doing some parsnip soup as we speak

I planted my first lot of garlic yesterday.  Germidour. Will get some more though from the Garlic Farm for planting out later.   Got a bag of Radars to go in today.  I put them where the spuds were and added some leaf mould and emptied some home made compo out of my dalek to mix in with the lumpyish soil     It was lovely weather, just perfect

I put two rows of Thompson and Morgan Onion sets in today

The Packets said September to October and later planting will produce smaller onions and 2 to 4 inches apart in rows a foot apart, again closer planting gives smaller onions.

I opted for 3 inches apart.
