I tried confining my mint to a pot and after years of looking weedy it now looks dead! :shock:
I think it needed a bigger pot as it dried out ever so quickly in the summer.

Oh I love mint!  Just sink a large container of mint into the ground; it should stop the roots from spreading.  I can spend endless moments crushing the leaves and inhaling that gorgeous intense scent.  I intend to increase my mint collection this year!  But will do it carefully, in containers!  Lemon balm, once rooted, will be with you forever more, I find - but it too, has a delicious scent.

My whole back garden in London was mint, 10mx10m of just mint. Dangerous stuff. The neighbours were so over-run that they paved their whole garden and just kept to potted roses. Boring! I never conquered it, and resorted to growing in grow bags on top of the stuff.

Buy a few chickens. Pen them in on the mint patch. One year later? No blooming mint let me tell you.

Dont ask me if the eggs will be minty however!
