After a decade of garlic failures due to ALM I've all but given up on it. As a last resort I'm musing over one more attempt in one of the greenhouses. I'm concerned it wont divide as it won't be cold enough though  Has anyone grown garlic successfully to completion in a greenhouse or polytunnel ?

I usually grow 2 or 3 cloves successfully in the greenhouse, although I plant the cloves in October so they're in the ground over the whole of winter. I usually find that the bulbs grown 'inside' tend to be bigger than those grown outside.

I haven’t but imagine if you’re going to do spring planted you need a variety that’s suited to Mediterranean weather. Worth a try

Last years bulbs are still in the GH where I threw them in disgust at the end of the year  , some have spouted. I figured I'd split them up and put them on the glass side of the greenhouse behind where the tomatoes will go.

Mr. Dog's autumn planting method has to be the surest method of ensuring the bulbs split into cloves if growing indoors, but I've never been entirely sure whether the sub-10C period for vernalisation must be when the cloves are actually rooted and growing.
Sounds like yours have been given a severe warning and might take the hint - let us know what happens.

Grow mine every year in the polytunnel, never had a problem.
