Hello everyone next month will be my 1yr anniversay of having my allotment I dont know a great deal about growing veg. I'm on a steep learning curve ha my eldest daughter who's 10 started to become a bit disinterested by November because we had spent 5 months cutting a field of weeds and 5ft grass down so I ordered some onions from Sutton seeds and put them in some prepared ground all has been going well they have been growing nicely as has everthing else but over the last 3 days 2 or 3 of the onions have started to turn purple on the leaves I have tried looking this up I cant find anything in my books but on the net it refers me to basal plate rot but says its from the root it can go a red to brown colour but my leaves are purple does anyone know if this is rot or normal I dont know if I should pull them out now because I have another 15-20 onions growing on the same patch.  I did put shallots in my middle row a few weeks ago which are thriving but in no way in the other onions way if that makes a difference. Please help thank you!!!!

What soil have you got and which leaves are affected?

Can you maybe post a photo?

Don't panic it might not be that bad!
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
