major clean up today at the plot
« on: January 28, 2011, 19:38 »
well i think that todays clean up was the biggest the alotment had seen since the war lol ...
i took on another alotment few days ago. and looked at it at couldnt believe the mess .,....

SO TODAY  i had at 9. oclock   a jcb digger  a self drive wacker plate - a large skip and a tractor and plow ...

think they thought i was mad.   luckly due to my circle of freinds they all have the gear i needed it just was the case of putting a bit of money there way for days wage .  so i now have the cleanest alotment on the plot . ... i did the cuppas all day while they did the work as me and a jcb wouldnt go together  ....

im so pleased tho

had so much metal i rang a local scrap metal dealer who collected the lot and then gave me 100 pound . for the  3 loads he got .... so in total for 50 pound i got it all done #:)

happy days

That's the way to do it  :)

No messing around with hand tools. I collect mineral specimens for a hobby and years ago I asked a famous collector/dealer what tool he would recommend for serious field collecting.

Dynamite, was his answer!!

Sounds like the dream day for me, diggers and allotments, well thats just heaven :D
If you want to be happy for a short time - get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

Pictures would be nice
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I'm curious.

Whacker plate on an allotment? Getting ready for the sprouts?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

If you're serious about clearing, then you need to be serious about the equipment

At least you're cleared and ready chickchook. And to come out with some cash in hand doesn't hurt either.
