Some of the plants and veg that I have traditionally grown, I have noticed are really suffering with the change in the climate:- Too hot for some, and not enough rain for all of them.   So perhaps it is time to think about different plants and things that will be more suitable for the situations as they continue to change,  but what ?

Do you grow chillis? my chilli is loving this climate. As is the honey dew melon!

Thanks N.s.  I have been to Beth Chatto, with the garden club, and I love the look of the grasses etc,  I have had some in my gravel beds, but got rid in the end, they just went everywhere.   I am not very good at letting seedlings take their course.  I get frightened in case they overwhelm me.
I am going to study her site again (in fact I would like to go there again, it was lovely).
Certain things will not be used next year, like Busy Lizzies, whilst it is nice to see their return, to use them here in the heat, winds and very dry soil, means that they are wilting by 4pm, nd they have already been watered twice, and are in the shade. 
I am making a moving to succulents and alpines, they seem happy as do my Geranium Girls, they never fail me.
Salad veg are definitely out, for one person a bag of ready washed does the job, as do radish, cuc and toms.
