some weeks ago, i was given one of these in payment for rewiring the lights on a friends pick-up truck. needless to say it didn't work at the time.
having got it going, ive now used it a few times up the lottie to loosen the soil a bit before ridging up the spuds and so on.
i just thought i would mention how pleased i am with the beastie, its very light, got a 31cc two stroke engine (20:1 mix ), and has a 9" pass.
in a thread i replied to last year, my reaction to someone who said they had one was a bit lukewarm in singing its praises
i would have to say now, i reckon its every bit as good as the mantis as a small topsoil tiller, and no doubt a few sheckles cheaper too.
mind you, it dont half use up fuel quick........ :D

they look realy sturdy graham,i had a blimp at those stihl ones the other day very similar to the ryobi.
on the subject of mini tillers i acquired a mantis last week and i cant believe the power it chucks out and the finish soil is brilliant.
-
I had the advertising CD on the mantis. It looked OK.

well today i dug my bean trenches and barrowed a couple loads of manure into them, sprinkled a bit of soil over the top and mixed the lot up with the mantis, done a brilliant job.dont know about you guys but if you keep your rotavators at home it can be a bit of chore getting the big rotavators down to the plot.where as these little yolks its no problem at all.well worth getting one if you can
-
you're right. i take the "back scratcher" up when i feel the need. for the moment, the big one stays in the shed!
-
I have not got a back scratcher, but now the all the ground is worked over. I use the little red (howard 220) more than the others. Infact until the potatoes come up the big red is on holiday.
-
i wouldnt fancy scratching anywhere with one of those yolks
-
?? which yolk Howard or Mantis

any one of the 2 the thought of scratching my back with a rotavator send shiverines down my spine
