one of our sussex has snapped her claw off and is bleeding we've cleaned it with salt water put a little plaster on and put her in the coop on her own we don't have any purple spray ahve we done the right thing :(

Ouch :( How did she do that ?

She might not keep the plaster on. I have used in the past the spray stuff that stops bleeding, can't think of the name of it. If you can pick up some purple spray it's handy to have in :)
You will need to keep a real close eye on it, it really needs to stop bleeding.

the guy who sold us the chickens said that they heal quite quickly if given the chance but if it hasn't stopped bleeding he's got some antiseptic spray he uses when they are clipping the sheeps hooves and they go a bit too far,she doesn't seem bothered by the plaster just want it to heal. Going on ebay later to order purple spray hopefullt there won't be a next time but better safe than sorry! Evil little beeps when they see blood I got a few pecks ouch!

well the plaster didn't work! when we back an hour later to check on her she'd been scratching her head trying to get the plaster off, omg looked like texas chainsaw masacar! gave her a bath dried her off and put her to bed, she was fine this morning so fingers crossed for tonight when I get home from work :(

all was well last night when we got home her claw looked good and everyone seemed calm yeah :D purple spray should be here soon
