In one of my books it says limping is one of the first signs of worms

And one of the poops that he did on me was very watery


Thoughts please ??

Watery poo because he was stressed at being picked up ?

Morning update :

Let Jack out after I'd wormed him Walking normally but within a few mins he was hobbling again  
No where near as bad as yesterday - had his foot flat when standing and more flat when walking.

I have put him back in his hutch where he has had food & water over night, the worry now is the food hasn't been touched
I'm going to fetch him in for a bath later - he's quite chirpy in himself - don't really want to do the vet bit yet, like to try all avenues first

He hasn't had his bath yet - I've gotta nip to the shop and didn't want to go looking like a wet rag  :roll:

Definitely looks like the heel that's bothering him. Wonder if the splinter made him land awkwardly at some point and he's bruised it.

Have you manipulated it to see if there's any pressure points ?

He seems a little better than yesterday (although my work computer won't let me watch all of the video for some reason) but is still not putting his heel down, is he? Seems odd as that is not where the injury was. Maybe he just can't heel-walk and this is the only way to reduce weight bearing for ducks :roll:  Do wonder if there is a problem further up though but all look clear on the pics.

Sorry, not being very helpful, just thinking outloud.

I would have thought he'd lift his foot when he stands if it was his leg. Unless it's a tendon that is relaxed until he moves ?

I'm just trying to anthropomorphise slightly by imaganing myself walking like that and wondering where it might hurt.

Hi

We keep Call ducks and for one reason or another are always hurting themselves and getting limps. What we usually do is bring them in and give them a warm bath then rub a small amount of Ibroprofen gel into the leg or foot. After a couple of days they are fine. I think a lot of the damage is done by them rushing to get into the pond when they are let out in the mornings.
For any wounds I spray with Genetian violet it seems to stay put longer.
