Would a shrub that is poisonous to humans kill chickens if they ate it??? I´m trying for the life of me to think of the name of the shrub they have here in Spain growing along the central reseration of the motorways! We need to make a wind break/stop folk looking in at us. Hedging takes too much water so do conifer, we thought the shrubs that go along the motorway would be ideal. If only I could think of their name it would help I guess

It´s Oleander.......... now to find if it will kill a hen  We have no children here, but if it is very poisonous I guess it will be stupid to plant it, you never know- one day I might become a grandmother :D

After reading what they say about it on Wikipedia I think I will give it a miss. My friend gave me a small shrub of it a couple of months ago- I think I´ll go and get hubby to dig it up and chop it bare handed into small pieces :D Just joking!! I´ll dig it up and get the neighbour to burn it! I´ll wear gloves and put it in a bin bag! I knew it was poisonous but didn´t realise it was so dangerous  Yet you see the road workers cutting the oleander hedges here and moving the stuff with bare hands!! I want a full body suit
