pickies of my ducks that i sold

 :) i have just recieved an email of a lady who brought my ducklings off me. is it true that the males tale end sticks up?? can anyone say whether they are male or female? pls thanks lisa

They still look quite young at the moment and it can be hard to tell until their feathers have all grown.  At the moment they all look female (although the one in the pond in the second piccie looks like its tail might be curling!).  With my own ducks I could tell by their quack before their tail feathers - males sound croaky/hoarse and the females have a much louder quack.  Are the 2 white ducks Aylesburys?  I have 2 Aylesburys (one male and one female) and when they were ducklings their head shape and eye position was very slightly different as well.

 :)  hi there yeah the two white ones are, the brown one is a cross alysbry-chaki cambell.
sorry cant spell today, i thought that the brown one was a male but not too sure now. it would be nice if they were all females will have to ask the lady who brought them off me to see how they sound.lol odd request. thanks

Are they about 6 weeks old now? If so you should be able to quack identify, although I found it hard with Aylesburys as the boys have a fairly loud quack. The sex feathers on the tail are curly on boys but won't show until full adult plumage so another 6 weeks probably.
