A Poorly Hen
« on: November 25, 2020, 12:05 »
Last night on the vet programme on TV, a lady bought in a hen that she thought was unwell.  Its comb has lost its colour, the feathers were all fluffed out and it was totally uninterested.   She also said that the hens eggs had been crinkly.
The vet diagnosed a condition which a) I had never heard of and b) I have now forgotten it anyway.     He gave the poor hen two injections, one an antibiotic and one was multivits.  The lady had to take the hen back for 5 days of jabs.   The hen started to recover overnight and a week later good and healthy.  I thought this was interesting, and I wonder if you have hens that have suffered and what it was called.   Hope the hens are all good now though.   thanks and regards,  Mrs Bouquet
