Cant beat old tools.

For a start, they were made from  steel that actually had some temper and density to it, rather than the melted down Volkswagen Polo's that modern tools are made from.

I use a set of wood turning chisels that are stamped "Norris 1936".  Ive had to sharpen them twice in ten years, the steel is so fine and hard. Similarly, i have a set of pre war Rolls Royce spanners, they ring like a bell if you strike them.

The finest post war tools are made of armour plate from sunken battleships.

....and there was me thinking that it was recycled Rustin Metros that were used for modern tools. ;)

Lovely set of tools, griff. Wish I could find a few like that.
