hello people, i have too many slugs around and in the drinkers even if they are empty, only at night though. any sprays or disinfectant to keep them away i dont want to use the slug killer pellets incase the chooks pick them up.

Chickens would normally eat them so I wouldn't expect you to have to put anything down to kill the slugs and snails.

If they are eating slugs and snails their worming regime is very important as they carry worms :ohmy:

You should be able to put bran or oats out for the slugs which is meant to bloat and kill them but will be safe for your chickens.   ;)

My father uses to cut them with a pair of scissors, my grandma insists beakers in the soil filled with beer are best (somehow they like it too much and drown). I take them with a dustpan and throw them for the birds on my compost. Luckily we have only little problem with them.

I can't hurt an animal - not even a slug!  I was very gentl pulling leeches off my legs in Sumtara years ago....
Get hanging feeders - slugs can't jump. They tidy up the spilt bits for you at night.
